BREATHE,
a concept for NIKE

a 6 week explorative ZBRUSH project.

It all began with a question,

"what if your shoe

could breathe?"

Nike “All Conditions Gear” or more well known as ACG - picked up after Nike’s ‘Hiking’ line that introduced shoes such as the Magma, Approach and Lava Dome in 1981. A distinct line of products made well known from their unique silhouettes and eccentric colorways, Nike ACG has never been afraid to be different.

In nature, nothing is perfect and everything

is perfect….

Keeping nature in mind, I was inspired to follow a few directions.

Organic Curvature

Ideation

How do we make a shoe "breathe?"

Tpu edges aren't glued down tightly.

After breaking in the shoes, the edges begin to unravel, giving each owner a unique pair.

Unworn, edges do not

move and stay static.

Air vents in between gills create a breathing effect with each step, the ventilation causes constant movement and breathability.

Keeping in mind the constant inconsistency of nature, I was able to implement organic curvature when thinking about paneling, and executed bold hues to give the sneaker a unique personality
