As an product designer, I've always been looking for a wearable that portrays my personality. I'm a person who takes notice in the small details, cause without them the big picture would never be the same. I set out to design a jacket that would have a depth that could only be uncovered upon closer inspection.

Test Ideation
For the concept itself, I first tested the layering design on leather to see how it would affect the material, as well as playing with stitching not for a constructive purpose but rather for the overall aesthetic look.
Material Exploration
When looking for a material for my project, I felt that suede would be perfect for my concept. Suede would give my design another layer of colors to it, due to the fact that it would change hues with a slight brush to the texture. I decided to work with multiple dye lots to emphasize the subtle color differences in the jacket.

Pattern Development
I designed the pattern from scratch by using an existing work jacket as the initial pattern shape to get an accurate sizing for the sleeve lengths and chest.
I decided to elongate the sleeves, while cropping the waist and extending the collar for an oversized aesthetic.
